October 2023 Pupdate

We can’t believe we are nearing the end of 2023. This early summer we welcomed the most amazing F1 Bernedoodle puppies from Dot and Pecco. This perfect little six pack consisted of 3 boys and 3 girls. We aren’t kidding when we say this little litter of puppies were some of the cutest little rollie-pollies we have ever seen. Again, we were blessed with the most amazing families for our litter, with two lucky little puppers going to live with their cousins from one of our previous litters! We feel this is the biggest compliment we could receive having our past fur families come back for another Pickerel Pup.

Updates! Our kennel is getting a facelift! We never stop trying to improve our program, which includes keeping our kennel neat and tidy. It’s all about trial and error over here at Pickerel Pups. Last year we lined the outdoor part of our kennels with woodchips. We learned that during the snow melt, woodchips become very messy, and our pack was filthy, as well as the kennels. This summer we expanded our runs and purchased turf to help with some of the mess. Good thing Craig is handy, as he has done all the work himself! For now, it is a race against time as the days grow shorter and the weather is starting to cool. The kennel will continue to be a work in progress, but we are excited to give our pack even more room to run when they aren’t out on the property with us.

Another exciting bit of news is Valentino scored above average on his OFA’s! Having ranked a “Good” score means Val has “well formed hip joint conformation as compared with other individuals of the same breed and age”. Way to go, Val!

Stork news! We are anticipating a litter of fluffy F1 Goldendoodles mid- November. Our beloved Olive is going to be a Momma again. We believe this litter will be dual sired as Olive had two dates with Claude and one date with Valentino. We are very excited to see the color combinations of these puppies. We will attempt to get a head count at Olive’s next Vet appointment. Olive and Claude had 10 beautiful puppies in 2021. Any guesses as to how many she will have with litter #2? We started implementing “puppy culture” from Jeanette Forey’s BAB training and love how well adjusted our past litters have turned out. We will surely be introducing our upcoming litters to ENS/ESI training as Kate continues to learn through BAB’s way.

If you are interested in adopting one of our available puppies or would like more information, please reach out either by emailing us at info@pickerelpups.com, send a text or call us at 218-849-5137.

Warmly,

Kate & Craig Kleindl
