Olive & Val's 2 Week Litter Pupdate
Time flies when you're having fun! In case you didn't hear, Olive gave birth to her beautiful 12-pack of puppies on 12/22/24 - 6 boys and 6 girls. We decided to try a new stud this time, and Valentino and Olive have created some truly stunning babies. Olive's litter is a wonderful mix of 7 little black-colored babes and 5 adorable golden ones - the "winter blessings" litter with their sweet winter-themed names. These puppies have already grown so much in just 2 short weeks- they have doubled their weight! It's been an absolute joy watching them develop and thrive. We're so proud of how well Olive is caring for her little ones. This litter has been a delight from the start - they're such calm, content puppies who are adapting wonderfully to all the new experiences we're introducing them to.
At 2 weeks old, the puppies' eyes are starting to open and their ears will be opening up this week too. This means they're beginning to have little startle reflexes, making new sounds, and using all four legs to toddle around with more intention. We've been doing Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) training since they were 3 days old, which is helping support their overall development, coping skills, and resilience. We'll be wrapping that up in the next few days, but we'll continue working with them daily, just in a more advanced way - introducing new sights, sounds, and smells.
This litter has been absolutely amazing so far - such calm, content little ones who are adapting so well. We did have one little runt, "Tiny Tim," and we've been cheering him on as he works hard to eat, grow, and develop. He's still less than half the size of his siblings, but he's a real fighter and gaining ounces every day.
We've had a lot of interest in this litter already, and have even received a few deposits. If you'd like to get on our list, please don't hesitate to reach out by email, text, or phone: info@pickerelpups.com or 218-849-5137.
